Naughty, nimble and vigorous, monkeys are active elves in the woods and can move freely and quickly through the trees. In the monkey society, the monkey king is usually the winner of a duel of several young male monkeys.

Compared to all other land mammals, monkeys have bigger brains relative to their bodies, which means they are more intelligent.

It is not a good thing for monkeys to eat too many bananas. The British zoo has banned it because bananas are too high in sugar, which makes the monkeys so fat they can't climb trees.

Most monkeys like to live in groups, with groups ranging from dozens to hundreds. The leader of the monkey group is the monkey king, whose main responsibility is to protect the territory and safety of the monkey group.

How to Draw a Baby Monkey Step by Step

Step 1 Draw this baby monkey's tail

This is a baby monkey hanging upside down on a tree, we will draw its tail first.

The monkey's tail is slender and long, we need to grasp this feature when drawing this tail.

Start by drawing a long curved line from left to bottom right. Then below it, draw another curved line along it and connect their left ends.

Step 2 Outline the left half of the baby monkey's head

When drawing the baby monkey's head, we're going to draw the upturned hair on top of the head. This will make it look cute and naughty!

Below the tail, draw a curved line from top to bottom to get a "C" shape to complete the outline of the left half of the head.

To the right of the top end of this curve, draw the baby monkey's hair.

Step 3 Outline the right half of the baby monkey's head

Next we're going to draw the outline of the right half of the baby monkey's head.

Corresponding to the curve we drew in the previous step, we draw a curve to get a nearly round head.

This curve is going to go through the bottom of the baby monkey's tail.

Step 4 Draw the left ear of this baby monkey

Before drawing this baby monkey's ear, let's take a closer look at the ear - it's made up of two circles.

On the left side of the head, start by drawing a circle. Part of it overlaps with the head.

Inside this circle, draw another slightly smaller circle next to the lower left corner, thus completing an ear.

Step 5 Draw the right ear of this baby monkey

The two ears of this baby monkey are symmetrical, so you won't be confused about how to draw the right ear.

In a similar way to the previous step, start by drawing a circle on the right side of the head.

Inside this circle, draw a slightly smaller circle next to the lower right corner to complete the ear.

Step 6 Draw the outline of the baby monkey's face

The face of this little monkey is oval in shape and looks a bit like a peach.

Draw the outline of the baby monkey's face so that its bottom overlaps the bottom of the head outline. Leave a gap at the top of the face contour.

In that gap, draw this baby monkey's bangs. Its drawing is similar to how we drew the monkey's hair.

Step 7 Draw the eyes and eyebrows of this baby monkey

Draw an unnoticeable horizontal line in the middle of the face. This determines the position of the monkey's eyes.

Draw two symmetrical circles at the bottom of that horizontal line. Then draw a small circle inside each circle to complete the little monkey's eyes.

Above each eye, not too close, draw a curved line for this baby monkey's eyebrows.

Step 8 Draw the nose and mouth of this baby monkey

Draw a vertical line down the middle of the two eyes. Then draw a curved line at the top of it to each side to get the nose.

Below each eye, very close, draw an thin oval for this baby monkey's cheeks.

At the bottom of the head, draw a "U" shape on the lower right side of the nose. Then draw a line on it. This completes the monkey's tongue.

Step 9 Color this cute baby monkey

We've drawn the mischievous monkey, but we still need to color it to make it even more beautiful.

Here we will choose the four colors brown, yellow, red and black. You can use crayons or watercolor paints.
