How to Draw a Beach Chair

What's the best place to look forward to summer for kids? Maybe a beach where they can build sandcastles, swim and catch crabs and shells. For parents, the beach also means relaxation and forgetting the troubles of work and life.

On the beach, there are basically comfortable beach chairs. Leisure beach chairs are generally hand-woven, soft to use, comfortable and generous, and breathable. Tired of playing at the beach, how refreshing it is to lie down on a beach chair and have a cold drink!

How to Draw a Beach Chair Step by Step

Step 1 Draw one armrest of this beach chair

Start by drawing a straight line from top left to bottom right and make it longer. The angle between this line and the horizontal line is about 45 degrees.

Draw another parallel line below it. The line should be slightly shorter.

Draw a short line connecting the left ends of these two lines, forming two right angles.

That's how you get an armrest for this beach chair. Later we'll extend this armrest to get one leg of this beach chair.

Step 2 Draw the two edges of the backrest of this beach chair

The back of this beach chair is woven so its edges won't be straight in its natural form.

Take a point to the right of the already drawn armrest. It should be approximately level with the top of the armrest.

Starting at the right edge of the armrest, draw a curved line to the right to this point. Then start from this point and draw a smooth curve towards the bottom right.

Step 3 Draw the other armrest of this beach chair

Draw another armrest on the other side of the backrest in a similar way to step 1.

This armrest should be parallel to the first armrest and slightly shorter in length (of course it is the same length in reality, just because the beach chair is placed on its side).

Connect the top ends of the two parallel lines with a short curved line. You don't need to draw the part of the armrest that is obscured by the backrest.

Step 4 Draw one leg of this beach chair

Let's start by drawing one leg of this beach chair. Then draw an edge of the seat.

Draw a long straight line from bottom left to top right to connect the bottoms of the armrests. You need to notice that the right end of this line is only in the middle of the bottom of the right armrest.

Draw a line parallel to it below. Then draw two short curved lines to connect the ends of these two straight lines to get one leg of this beach chair.

Start at the right end of the upper straight line and draw a straight line toward the upper right. Its length is less than a quarter of the long straight line. Note that it is not an extension of the long straight line, but slightly inclined to the right.

Then start from the right end of the lower long straight line and draw a line to the upper right. Then connect the right ends of these two newly obtained parallel lines with a short curved line.

Step 5 Draw a support bar for this beach chair

We have drawn the armrests and one leg of this beach chair. Now draw a support bar between the armrest on the left and the leg.

Let's look at the armrest on the left. Take two adjacent points about the middle of its left edge.

Start at one of the points and draw a straight line towards the lower left to reach that leg. Then start at another point and draw a parallel line towards the lower left.

Step 6 Draw one edge of the back of this beach chair

In the second step, we have drawn the top edge and right edge of the back of this beach chair, now let's draw its left edge.

Let's start by finding a point on the armrest on the left. This point is on the left edge of this armrest, near the top, but should be below the left end of the top edge of the backrest.

From this point draw a long smooth curve towards the bottom right. Its end should be under the bottom of the armrest on the left.

Step 7 Draw the legs of this beach chair

In the first step we said that we would extend the armrests of this beach chair to get its other two legs.

Let's do that now. After drawing the four straight lines, connect their ends with two curved lines.

You will notice that there is a gap in the right leg. We'll draw the seat surface in this gap later.

Step 8 Draw the seat surface of this beach chair

Near the right end, take a point on the first leg we drew. From this point draw a smooth curve towards the lower left.

Then look at the edge of the seat we drew in step 4. Start near its right end and draw a smooth curve towards the lower left.

The ends of the two curves should be at the same point. You need to pay attention to the position of this point relative to the end of the left edge of the backrest.

Step 9 Color this beach chair

The beach chairs by the sea not only allow people to lie down and rest, but also a beautiful landscape. You can see beach chairs of various colors and patterns. So, what color or pattern do you like?
