The narwhal is a small whale with a strange shape. It looks like a round torpedo. There is a long tooth on the upper lip, which is like a horn. It is called the "unicorn of the sea". They eat fish, squid, shrimp and other sea creatures.
Narwhals are master divers in the ocean. They can dive approximately 3000 feet in the ocean at a near-vertical angle, and do so many times a day.
Narwhals, like polar bears, mainly live in the northern tip of the Atlantic Ocean and the Arctic Ocean, and are the Arctic species most vulnerable to climate change.
At present, the number of narwhals on the earth is extremely small and is on the verge of extinction. Scientists estimate that there are about 80,000 narwhals alive, but no one has been able to confirm the exact number.

About the horn of the narwhal
The long thing protruding from the front of the narwhal's head is not a horn but a tusk, which can be up to 9 feet long. People used to regard the narwhal as the incarnation of the legendary unicorn, and the royal families of some countries even used these teeth as a tool for exorcism and detoxification.
The narwhal appears to suck its prey into its mouth and swallow it whole, rather than using its tusks to poke its prey.
Queen Elizabeth is said to have spent £10,000 on the horn of a narwhal, equivalent to the cost of a castle at the time.
These horns were made into cups for emperors to drink from, or scepters that symbolized royal power.
