Donkeys resemble horses, they share a common origin, but are smaller than horses. On the donkey, you will never feel the feeling of majesty. But don't look down on donkeys because of this, they have the advantages of gentle temperament, hard work and so on!
Have you ever seen a donkey roll around? Donkeys love to roll on the ground, which is their unique way of bathing. Because there are often some small bugs in the donkey's fur, and there are many stains on the skin, which will make the donkey very uncomfortable.
How to Draw a Donkey Step by Step
Step 1 Draw one ear of the donkey
This donkey has a pair of raised ears, so we'll do them first in the first two steps of this tutorial.
Start by drawing the left edge of this ear. Draw a curved line from its top to the bottom right to get the outline of the ear.
On this ear, draw two top-connected lines along its sides. Then connect their ends to get the inner ear of this ear.
Step 2 Draw the other ear of the donkey
The ear on the right is basically symmetrical to the one on the left, so you can do it in a similar way.
The bottoms of both ears are not closed, and we won't be doing that even at the end of this tutorial.
If you've ever learned how to draw a bunny, it's probably easy to do both ears. Or if you are going to draw a rabbit in the future, you can follow this way here to complete its ears.
Step 3 Draw the top of the donkey's head
Draw a horizontal curved line between the two ears to connect the two ears and get the top of the donkey's head.
Draw a wavy line above the curve, and connect the two ends of the wavy line to the curve.
You can draw the hair on the top of the donkey's head, of course, you can also ignore it, it will not affect the overall image of the donkey too much.
Step 4 Draw the outline of the donkey's head
Draw a smooth curved line down from the bottom of the left ear. The same goes for the bottom of the right ear.
Then draw a "U" shape connecting the bottom ends of these two curves to complete the outline of the donkey's head.
This head outline is left-right symmetrical, you need to draw the face a little longer.
Step 5 Draw the donkey's face
On the upper part of this face, draw an eye that is close to an oval, and draw a small circle inside this eye. Draw the other eye in the same way.
Near the bottom of the face, draw two small symmetrical circles to get the nose. Then above the nose, draw a curved line from left to right.
Draw a left-to-right curved line at the bottom of the head. Then draw another one and connect the ends of the previous curve. This completes the donkey's mouth.
Step 6 Draw one of the back legs of the donkey
Draw a curved line from the left edge of the head towards the lower left to get the side of the donkey's body. The bottom end of this curve is slightly higher than the mouth.
Draw a line from the bottom left to the top right through the bottom of the left side of the donkey's body. Draw a parallel line below this line and connect their left ends to get the outline of a leg.
Draw a curved line on the leg to connect the sides of the leg to get a hoof for the leg.
Step 7 Draw the other back leg of the donkey
In a similar way to the previous step, first draw a curved line to get the other side of the body. Then draw the other back leg.
The donkey's body and back legs are also symmetrical. So you won't feel particularly troublesome when completing this step.
We left a large space between the two back legs, where we will draw the front legs later and complete the body.
Step 8 Draw the front legs of the donkey
Below the head, draw the front legs between the two back legs and draw a curved line on each leg for the hooves.
Draw a horizontal curved line on top of these two legs. Then draw a short line between the hooves of these two legs.
This donkey is symmetrical except for the eyes. And you've now done it, except for the coloring.
Step 9 Color this cute donkey
Donkeys are mostly gray-brown, and their belly is slightly lighter in color. The composition of this donkey is not complicated, so you can easily finish coloring it after you have a few colors ready.
