Giant pandas are very cute animals. They are very rare, there are only a few hundred left in the world, and they only live in China. They eat half of the day and sleep the rest of the day.

Giant pandas are fat, with sharp claws and well-developed fore and hind limbs, which are helpful for giant pandas to quickly climb tall trees. They live almost entirely on bamboo, and it's hard to imagine how they can digest tough bamboo!

How to Draw a Giant Panda Step by Step

Step 1 Draw this panda's ears

Start by drawing a half circle on the left. You can take a coin, put it on the paper, and trace the coin to get the outline of the ear.

In a similar way, draw the other ear on the right. The two ears are symmetrical.

Step 2 Draw the outline of the panda's head

Draw a large oval to get the outline of the panda's head. You can also draw this horizontal oval first and then go to the ears.

Make the panda's head bigger. It should be bigger than the body.

Step 3 Draw an eye and nose of this panda

Draw the eye socket of the left eye first. It is a triangle, and each corner is drawn with a radian. The left angle is about 90 degrees, and the other two angles are about the same size.

Inside this eye socket, draw an oval near the right edge. Draw a circle inside this oval. Then draw a small circle inside this circle.

On the right of the bottom of the eye socket, draw a capsule-shaped nose, and draw a small circle on the nose. This nose is very small, not even half the size of an eye.

Step 4 Draw the other eye and mouth of this panda

In a similar way, we draw the eye on the right. The two eyes are symmetrical, but you need to pay attention to the placements of their small circles.

Draw a short line down the middle of the bottom of the nose. Draw a curved line to the left and right from the bottom of the line respectively to get the panda's mouth.

Now that we have the panda's head, let's draw its body.

Step 5 Draw the arms of this panda

Draw an oval at the bottom of the head to get the arm on the left. This oval is sloping, and its right end is a little to the left of the mouth.

In a similar way, draw the arm on the right. Leave a gap on each arm.

We can see that this giant panda's arm is about the size of its eye socket.

Step 6 Draw a foot and body of this panda

Draw a circle at the bottom of the arm on the left, they are connected through the gap on this arm. This gives the outline of the foot on the left.

Leave a small gap on this foot as well. Then draw a curved line to the right starting from the upper end of this gap.

Step 7 Draw the other foot and body of this panda

In a similar way, draw the outline of the foot on the right. The panda's feet are also symmetrical.

Draw another curved line from left to right to connect the lower ends of the gaps between the two feet. In this way, the body of this giant panda is finished.

Step 8 Draw the panda's feet and background

We have drawn the outlines of the panda's feet in the previous steps, now draw a circle inside each.

Then add zigzag lines on both sides of this panda's body as grass.

Step 9 Color this cartoon panda

Giant pandas have a black and white appearance, which is helpful for them to hide in the trees and snowy ground in the dense forest and not easy to be detected by natural predators. It has huge dark circles on face which makes it look very cute.
