Goats are one of the earliest domesticated livestock. It is speculated that humans have been domesticating goats more than 8,000 years ago.
Most believe that goats were first domesticated in the mountains of West Asia, and then brought to Africa, Europe and Asia with the migration of nomads.
Goats are lively, active, and bold; sheep are docile and timid. This determines that the goat is not suitable for captivity unless you can provide it with enough space!
Goats like to run around, are mischievous, and like to be in high places. On the mountain, the goats can walk freely on the steep slopes and even the cliffs that other livestock cannot go up. Wild goats like to lick the rocks for salt and minerals on the cliffs.
Studies have confirmed that goats can express their "angry, sad and happy" through their calls. Other goats can feel their emotions through the calls. Whether it is pain, happiness, or sadness, goats can feel all of them.
How to Draw a Goat Step by Step
Step 1 Draw the horns of this goat
Let's look at the horns of this goat first. They look like two winter bamboo shoots.
Draw the horn on the right first. Take a point, draw two smooth curved lines from this point toward the bottom left, and connect their ends with a curved line.
After drawing the outline of the horn, draw three curved lines on it to make the horn look more textured.
In a similar way, draw the horn on the left. But you don't need to draw its bottom edge.
Step 2 Draw the outline of the goat's head
In the second step of this how to draw a goat tutorial, we are going to draw the hair on the top of the goat's head first, and then finish the outline of the head.
Take a point under the horn on the left. Draw a curved line to the right from this point to the left edge of the horn on the right.
Then draw a wavy line from this point towards the bottom right to get the goat's hair. It doesn't need to be precise.
Let's first observe the outline of this goat's head, which is an oval.
Start at the bottom of the horn on the left and draw a "C" shape, and then extend its end towards the top right.
Step 3 Draw the goat's ears
We left a gap on the right side when we drew the outline of this goat's head in the previous step. Now we're going to draw an ear here.
Take two points below the horn on the right, and draw two lines from these two points to the bottom right, connecting their ends. Thus getting the ear on the right.
Complete the outline of the goat's head by drawing a short line between the horn and the ear on the right.
In a similar way, draw the goat's left ear. Then draw the inner ear of this ear.
Step 4 Draw the face of the goat
Draw an oval just below the ear on the left. Inside it draw two ovals and add a small circle to complete the eye.
In a similar way, draw the goat's right eye just below the horn on the left. The position of this eye is slightly lower.
Draw a curved line above the eye on the left. Draw a curved line on the top right of the eye on the right. This completes this goat's eyebrows.
Under the eyes, draw a curved line from left to right. Then draw a curved line down from the valley point of this line.
Step 5 Draw the goat's chest and one leg
In this step, we're going to draw the goat's chest first, and then finish one of its front legs.
To draw the effect of fur when drawing the chest. Draw a curved line down from the bottom of the head. Then draw a zigzag line down from its end.
Take two points on the right side of this chest. Draw two straight lines from these two points towards the lower left, they should be parallel.
Draw an oval at the bottom of those two parallel lines. Then draw a hoof.
Step 6 Draw one of the front legs of the goat
To the left of those two parallel lines, draw a line parallel to them from the chest towards the lower left.
Then follow a similar way to the previous step to complete this front leg.
Draw a short curved line from the right leg toward the lower right.
If all goes well so far, you can move on.
Step 7 Draw the body and one leg of the goat
To the left of the right ear, draw a line down from the bottom of the head to get this goat's neck.
Draw a curved line from the end of that line towards the bottom right to get the back of the goat.
Next we're going to draw one of the goat's back legs, while completing its body.
You don't need to draw the other back leg, as it's on the back and is obscured by the body.
Step 8 Draw the belly and tail of this goat
Draw a curved line on this goat's chest. Then draw a curved line to the left of that back leg.
You need to notice the correspondence between the two curves. The second curve is an extension of the previous curve.
On the right side of the body, draw this goat's tail.
This tail also gets the fur effect by drawing a zigzag line.

Knowledge about goats
A goat's field of vision is almost 360 degrees. The wide field of view also gives the goat a strong foraging ability.
Goats like to fight and are especially combative. Moreover, goats love cleanliness. When grazing, if they feel that the grass is polluted, they will never eat it.
Goat skins have long been used to make clothing and leather rafts for crossing rivers. Until the Middle Ages, they were often used to make water or wine bags for travel and camping. In some regions, goat skins were also made into parchment for writing.
