How to Draw a Rubber Duck

There is a yellow and cute duck that has become one of the most famous toys in the world, you must know who it is!

I believe that many babies have cute yellow rubber ducks in their homes, and accompany them to spend a happy bath time together when they take a bath!

Rubber ducks were first marketed to kids as chew toys, but have since evolved into bath toys.

But this fun little thing has also captured the hearts of adults. Someone even said, "If I had a bathtub and a rubber duck, I could live a healthy, carefree life!"

Rubber ducks represent happiness and innocence, and contain the meaning of eliminating troubles. Some people even tattoo it on their bodies to accompany themselves.

It is said that Queen Elizabeth once also had a rubber duck in her bathroom with an inflatable crown on its head.

How to Draw a Rubber Duck Step by Step

Step 1 Outline the head of this rubber duck

We'll first outline the rubber duck's head, and then its mouth. Of course, you can also reverse the order.

Here we plan to draw the oval head first. The right side of it should stick out a bit. Leave a gap on the left side of it.

On the left of that gap, draw three curved lines from left to right. Then connect their right ends with a curved line to get the rubber duck's mouth.

Step 2 Draw one eye of this rubber duck

Draw a vertical oval on the top right of the mouth for an eye. This rubber duck has big eyes.

Inside the eye, near the left, draw a slightly smaller oval. Then paint the inside of this oval black.

What we are drawing here is a simple rubber duck, so it only needs to draw an eye for its face. Others like eyebrows, cheeks, etc. are not needed.

Step 3 Draw the neck and chest of this rubber duck

At the base of this rubber duck's head, we find two symmetrical points. Draw a short curved line from the point on the right towards the lower right.

Draw a smooth curve from the point on the left towards the lower left. This completes the neck of this rubber duck.

Let's look at the end of the curve on the left. Extend it down to get the chest of this rubber duck.

Step 4 Draw one wing of this rubber duck

Before drawing the tail of this rubber duck, we need to draw one of its wings. And as you may have noticed, we don't need to draw the back and belly of this rubber duck.

At the bottom of this rubber duck's neck, draw a wavy line from left to right to get the top edge of this wing.

Start just below the left end of the wavy line and draw a smooth curve towards the upper right to connect the right end of the wavy line.

Step 5 Draw the tail of this rubber duck

Draw a curved line from the right side of this wing towards the upper right. Then draw a curve down from the right end of this curve.

Draw a curve from the end of the curve you just drew towards the upper right. Then draw a long curve from the right end of the newly obtained curve towards the lower left.

So we have drawn the tail of this cute rubber duck. This rubber duck is nearly finished.

Step 6 Draw the feathers on the wing

Let's look at that wing of this duck. On this wing, draw a curved line from the bottom left to the top right.

Next to this curve, and along it, draw another smooth curve. This way we get the feathers on this wing.

Now that we've drawn this cute rubber duck, it's time to draw the water. At the bottom of this rubber duck's body, draw a wavy line from left to right.

Step 7 Draw the water on sides of this duck

We have drawn water at the bottom of this rubber duck's body in the previous step. Now we are going to draw the water in the distance.

On the left side of this rubber duck, draw a wavy line from left to right. Also draw a horizontal wavy line to the right of it.

The two wavy lines are on the same horizontal line. You can also add more wavy lines below them as you see fit.

Step 8 Draw clouds in the sky

We already drew the rubber duck and water, but felt the need to add some interesting elements to the sky as well.

Draw two clouds on the left and right sides of this duck's head. They are all done with wavy lines.

You can also consider adding the sun in the sky, birds, or some small fish in the water.

Step 9 Color this rubber duck

Finally, of course, color your rubber duck to make it more realistic. It's easy to do and you won't have any trouble!

We've already painted its eyes black, so just color the rubber duck's body yellow and its mouth red.

Also, we will choose different shades of blue for the sky and water in this drawing.
