A sword is a cold weapon. It has blades on both sides, with a straight body and a sharp point. It has lethal power on both sides when attacking, and it can easily penetrate armor when attacking with the sword tip, making it a very dangerous weapon.
Whether in ancient Eastern or Western civilizations, the sword is a weapon of relatively high status. In Europe, in addition to being used in combat, swords were also used to make knights.
How to Draw a Sword Step by Step
Step 1 Draw the handle of the sword
This handle consists of three lines, and you can choose any line to start with.
Here first draw the long line above. Draw a straight line from top right to bottom left. You can do it with the help of a ruler.
Draw a line perpendicular to it at the right end of this line. Draw it slightly shorter.
Then draw a long line perpendicular to it from the right end of this short line. This line should be parallel to the first line we drew and have the same length.
Step 2 Draw the gauntlet of the sword
The handle we drew in the previous step is actually a rectangle with one side missing. Next draw this edge and extend it the same distance on both sides.
Find the top of the line you just drew and draw a short line perpendicular to it.
Step 3 Draw the gauntlet of the sword completely
At the bottom end of the long line drawn in the previous step, also draw a short line perpendicular to it.
The two short lines should be the same length.
Then draw a straight line to connect the ends of these two short lines to get a long rectangle.
Step 4 Add a pattern to this gauntlet
Find the middle point on the long line drawn in the previous step. Draw a line from it to connect to a corner of the handle.
From this point, connect with the other corner of the handle.
Step 5 Draw the outline of the upper part of the sword
Remember that middle point we identified earlier? Identify another point at the same distance from it on each side of it.
The straight-line distance between these two points is slightly more than the width of the handle.
From the newly taken upper point, draw a long line perpendicular to the gauntlet. Add a downward line to the left end of this line.
Step 6 Draw the outline of the lower half of the sword
Draw the lower half of the sword from another point in the same way as in the previous step.
If you find it difficult to determine the point of the sword tip, you can try to start from the first point we identified and also draw a line perpendicular to the gauntlet.
Step 7 Add a line to the handle of this sword
Find the middle point on the short upper edge of the handle. Connect it to that middle point on the gauntlet.
Step 8 Draw the blades of the sword
Connect the point on the tip of the sword to the middle point on the gauntlet. This draws the blades effect of the sword.
Step 9 Color this sword
Ancient swords were made of metal. Two shades of grey can be used to show the effect of its blades.
For the handle of this sword, you can choose your favorite color. It's also a good idea to use different shades of the same color to match the effect of the blades.
