A syringe is a common medical device. As early as the 15th century, an Italian proposed the principle of the syringe.
But it is generally believed that Pravoz of France is the inventor of the syringe. The emergence of syringes is an epoch-making revolution in the field of medical appliances.
Injection is the process of withdrawing or injecting gas or liquid with a needle. The syringe is made of plastic and can be thrown away after one use, which greatly reduces the risk of infection during injection.
How to Draw a Syringe and Medicine Step by Step
Step 1 Draw the piston rod of this syringe
When drawing this piston rod, we first need to draw a thin rectangle. Leave a big gap on its right edge.
This gap should be in the middle of the right edge, that is, the two short lines on sides of it should be the same length.
Draw a long straight line perpendicular to it from the bottom of the upper short line to the right. Then from the top of the lower short line draw a line perpendicular to it also to the right.
The two horizontal lines we just drew are the same length. So far we have drawn the exposed part of the piston rod.
Step 2 Draw the barrel of this syringe
Let's look at the two long horizontal lines drawn in the previous step. Draw a vertical line through their right ends.
The upper intersection point should be the same distance from the top of the vertical line as the lower intersection point should be from the bottom end of the vertical line.
At the bottom of this vertical line, draw a short line perpendicular to it to the right. Then draw a short line perpendicular to it at the right end of the newly drawn short line.
Draw a long horizontal line to the right from the top of that newly drawn vertical line. Then draw a line from its right end to the upper right, and add a short line at the end.
Step 3 Draw the barrel completely
Through the previous step, we have drawn the lower half of the barrel. Here, we will complete the outline of this syringe.
Draw a short horizontal line to the right from the top of the first vertical line we drew in the previous step.
From the right end of this short line, draw a short line perpendicular to it. Then draw a long horizontal line to the right from the bottom end of this newly drawn short line.
This long horizontal line should be the same length as the one we drew in the previous step. Then draw a short line from its right end to the bottom right, and finally add a short line.
Step 4 Complete the piston rod
Next, we're going to draw the part of the piston rod that goes inside the barrel. You can draw the piston rod at any depth in the barrel.
Draw a vertical line on this barrel. Then add another vertical line next to it. The distance between these two lines should not be too far and not too close!
Let's look at the two long horizontal lines drawn in the first step. Extend them to the right to the left vertical line we just drew.
Finally close to the top edge of this piston rod, draw a long horizontal line on this piston rod.
Step 5 Add scales to this syringe
We drew two vertical lines in the previous step. Now we're going to add the syringe scales to the right of the line on the right.
Let's start by drawing four long vertical lines. The spacing between every two adjacent lines is the same.
Then add short lines between them. Between every two long lines, you need to draw four short lines of the same length and spacing.
You'll notice that the tops of these lines are on the same horizontal line. You can draw an inconspicuous horizontal line ahead of time as a helper line.
Step 6 Draw the needle of the syringe
Draw a small rectangle on the right end of this syringe. Leave a large gap in the middle of its right edge.
Draw two horizontal lines of the same length to the right from that gap. Then connect their right ends with a smooth curved line.
Find the middle point of that curve. Draw a long horizontal line from it to the right. This completes the needle of this syringe.
So far we have drawn a syringe. Next, you can also try adding a medicine bottle next to it.
Step 7 Draw the lid of a medicine bottle
Next to this syringe, we're going to try and draw a medicine bottle. Start by drawing an thin oval.
This oval is sloping to the left. Draw a short line from each of its ends towards the lower left. Then draw a curved line connecting the bottom ends of these two lines.
From the curved line you just drew draw a short straight line to the bottom left. Then draw a line from left to right connecting the bottom end of this short line.
Finally draw a long straight line from the left end of the line you just drew towards the bottom left. This completes the side of the medicine bottle.
Step 8 Complete the medicine bottle
Draw the other side of the bottle in a similar way to the previous step. Then draw a curved line connecting the bottom ends of these two sides.
In this way, we have drawn the outline of the medicine bottle. This is a bottle filled with liquid medicine, not very big.
On this bottle, draw two parallel curved lines from top left to bottom right. This is the label on this medicine bottle.
Finally on this label, draw a "+" shape. Or you can design a different pattern, like a vaccine.
Step 9 Color this syringe and medicine
You should have completed your syringe and vial drawing following the guide above. Next, get out your crayons or watercolors to color your creation.
As exciting as it is, please stay calm and don't let your work of art fall short at the end!
Here, we'll choose brown, blue, black, and red. You can choose the colors according to your own ideas.
Well, you've finished the drawing! It's not difficult, just follow the step-by-step instructions, just like our other drawing tutorials.
