Treasure maps are mentioned in many movies, TV, and novels. It is said that pirates will hide their looted treasures on an unknown island, which can only be found through the treasure maps they draw.
We have no illusions about finding treasure and becoming rich overnight. But think about it, isn't the experience of finally finding the target through brainstorming and risk-taking according to a mysterious treasure map a lot of fun!
How to Draw a Treasure Map Step by Step
Step 1 Draw the upper left corner of this treasure map
Draw a line from top left to bottom right. Draw a small corner at the end of this line, and then draw the line down and to the left to get a spiral shape.
From the end of this spiral and near the end, draw two lines to the right. This way we get the top left corner of this treasure map.
Step 2 Draw the top of this treasure map
Treasure maps are generally not brand new, but have a long history. So it is normal for it to have wrinkles.
Draw a line to the right from the top of the first line we drew. Draw a line of about the same length below it.
Then connect their right ends with a line. Notice that we drew a small notch on this line.
Step 3 Draw the left and bottom edges of this treasure map
Again, starting at the top of the first line we drew, draw the line to the left and then down to get the left edge of this treasure map.
The upper part of this edge slopes to the right and the lower part slopes to the left. And you need to draw a notch on this edge.
You don't need to be precise when drawing this edge, its lines are all irregular, you don't need to be nervous and overly cautious.
In a similar way, draw the bottom edge of this treasure map.
Step 4 Draw the right edge and details of this treasure map
In a similar way to the previous step, draw the right edge of this treasure map. There are two notches on this edge.
We drew the top of this treasure map in the first step. Draw some short lines along its bottom edge, some of which are crossed. This makes this treasure map look a bit shabby.
Now that we've got the outline of this treasure map, it's time to add content to it, you'll love the next steps.
Step 5 Draw the sea and mountains
In the lower left corner of this treasure map, draw arcs of equal spacing, like the shape of a water wave. This represents the sea.
In the lower right corner of this treasure map, draw the shape of three mountains. This means that there are mountains at this location.
You can also replace the sea with a lake or a river, and mountains with desert or forest.
Step 6 Draw the tree, skull and route
Start by drawing a dotted line, which is the route to find the treasure. Its shape looks like a "?".
On the left of this route, above the sea, draw two trees. You don't need to draw them well, it's a reference to find the right way.
Then draw a large skull on the right of this route to represent potential danger at this location.
Step 7 Draw a treasure chest on this treasure map
At the end of the previously drawn route, draw a treasure chest. Add some lines next to the the lid of this treasure chest.
So far the treasure map has been completed. If you like, you can start coloring it now.
Step 8 Add lines to this treasure map
On this treasure map, draw some equally spaced lines from left to right. Then draw some lines from top to bottom to divide the treasure map into many grids.
Notice that these lines don't go through the sea, mountains, trees, skull, and treasure chest we've already drawn.
Step 9 Color this treasure map
The sea is blue, the mountains are khaki, the trees are green and brown, the skull is gray, and the treasure in the treasure chest is yellow... Refer to this colored treasure map above to color your work!
