How to Draw an Armchair Step by Step

Step 1 Draw the back of this armchair

Draw a long smooth curved line from left to right, forming an arch. This is the top edge of the backrest.

Draw a line down from the left end of this curve. Also draw a line down from the right end to get the outline of the backrest.

Step 2 Draw one arm of this armchair

Let's draw the left arm of this armchair. It looks like a number "6" and you have absolutely no trouble figuring out how to do it.

Draw a curved line down from the bottom of the left edge of the backrest. Then to the right of this curve, draw a curve from its middle height to the bottom right.

To the right of the bottom of the left edge of the backrest, we draw another short curved line from left to right.

Step 3 Draw the other arm of this armchair

The two arms of this armchair are not symmetrical, so they are drawn differently.

Let's look towards the right edge of the backrest. At its bottom, draw a curved line going down from left to right.

From the right end of the one we just got, draw another smooth curve down. This completes the drawing of the right arm of the armchair.

Step 4 Draw the cushion of this armchair

Let's look at the arm on the left. On its right side draw a curved line from top to bottom. Then draw a short line down from the end of this curve.

Add a curved line to the right handrail as well, to get a "C" shape. Then draw a short line down from its bottom as well.

Finally draw a long line from left to right connecting the bottom ends of those two short lines.

Step 5 Draw the sides of this armchair

Let's look at the first curve drawn in the second step. Draw a line from its bottom to the bottom right to get the side of the armchair.

In a similar way, we also draw a curved line down from the bottom of the armrest on the right to get the other side of the armchair.

Step 6 Draw the bottom of this armchair

We drew two lines in the previous step, now draw a long curved line from left to right, connecting their bottom ends.

Step 7 Draw a pillow

Step 8 Add another pillow

This pillow is also rectangular, and its left part is covered by the pillow we have already drawn.

Each edge of this throw pillow is a smooth curve. Then the three exposed corners are also a small bump outward.

Step 9 Color this armchair

Prepare the paints you like to use, such as crayons, watercolors, etc. Carefully color this armchair to make it real and beautiful.
