Socks are a kind of clothing item worn on the feet. Not only do they protect feet and prevent foot odor, but they are also a popular decoration.

In the very beginning, only men wore socks. Until 1589, as a student of the British seminary invented a machine that sewed socks six times faster than hand sewing, ladies began to wear socks.

In today's easy drawing tutorial, we're going to learn how to draw a pair of socks. They all had holes in their heels, which were then patched.

How to Draw Broken Socks Step by Step

Step 1 Draw the top of a sock

First draw a wavy line from top left to bottom right. Then draw a short line down from each of its ends.

Draw a curved line from the bottom of the short line on the left to the bottom right, connecting the bottom of the right line.

Add some short lines along the edges of the already drawn shape. The top of a sock is done!

Step 2 Draw one side of a sock

Next, we're going to draw one side of this sock. It looks like the profile of a human face - with a big nose.

Let's look at the shape we drew in the previous step. Draw a wavy line from its left end to the bottom left.

Then draw another wavy line from the bottom of this wavy line to the lower right.

Step 3 Draw the other side of this sock

We have already drawn the top and one side of the sock, now we only need to draw the other side to get the outline of the sock.

Let's look at the shape drawn in the first step. Draw a long wavy line down from its right end for the other side.

The bottom end of this wavy line should connect to the end of the last wavy line we drew in the previous step.

Step 4 Draw the stripes and hole on this sock

At the heel of the sock, we're going to draw a hole that has been patched.

It's easy to do. Just start from one side of the heel and draw a wavy line to the bottom of the sock.

Then above the hole, draw four curved lines to get the shape of two stripes.

Step 5 Draw the details on this sock

On the front of this sock, we're going to draw another six curved lines. Every two curves are grouped, and a total of three stripes are obtained.

Next, we will add some short lines to this sock, including stripes, heel, etc., to make this sock more textured.

So far, a sock with holes has been drawn. It's easy to do isn't it?

Step 6 Draw the outline of another sock

We've already drawn a sock, but socks usually come in pairs. So, we're going to add another sock next to the one we've already drawn.

To the right of the already drawn sock, draw the top of a sock, as we did in the first step.

Then draw lines down from the ends of this shape to get the outline of the sock.

Step 7 Add stripes and hole on this sock

Like the fourth step of this tutorial, we first draw a hole at the heel of the sock. Then add some short lines on this hole.

Above the hole, we also draw four curved lines to get the two stripes on the sock.

Then add some short lines to the upper stripe. Add some short lines above the lower stripe.

Step 8 Add stripes on this sock

This is a pair of socks, so they are basically the same shape, size and pattern.

On the front of this sock, we'll also draw six curved lines to get three stripes.

Finally add some short lines on or next to these stripes to make this sock more textured.

Step 9 Color the broken socks

Finally, color the socks. We'll choose purple, orange and gray for them, it's easy to do.

And you can decide for yourself what colors to choose. As long as you think it is suitable and good-looking, then the colors you choose is a success!
